The Counselling Contract
Our first meeting would be a chance to decide about working together. Usually we work for 6 sessions and then review our progress. Mostly, we would arrange to meet weekly for 50 minutes.
The counselling process is different for everyone. If you can tell me how you feel the counselling is going, then it helps us work out what is most useful.
The counselling contract would detail payment, agreeing a regular time for sessions, cancellation policy and holiday arrangements.
Our first meeting is also an opportunity to explore other options for support, including agencies or specialist services.
About Myself
Over twenty years ago, I began voluntary work as part of a listening service in a pastoral context. With a background in the visual arts and theatre, my first block of counselling training was in 1990. In 1993, I established a time-limited support group for those with eating distress.
For nearly three years, I worked with Wimbledon Guild Counselling Service as a volunteer counsellor.
Apart from my private practice, I have worked in a variety of contexts including a centre supporting parents and carers of vulnerable children, the Royal Borough of Kingston and Wandsworth Council's staff counselling services.
In 2005 I facilitated a time-limited staff support group for an organisation working with children with special needs.
For over three years, I worked with the Shaw Trust whose remit is to support those dealing with disabilities and long term illness.
On a freelance basis I am part of a pilot project providing counselling for parents through BLISS, the National Charity for the Newborn.
Appointments
I can offer appointment times to suit your schedule from Monday to Friday, both throughout the day and in the evening. An initial appointment can usually be made within three working days.
My Fees

| Counselling Sessions: | £45.00 |
| Supervision Sessions: | £45.00 |
I have some lower cost places between 9.00am and 5.00pm for counselling students and those on a lower income.
My fees are reviewed on an annual basis and any changes would be made with two months notice.
